John M Morris

I represent a diverse executive career including leadership roles in venture capital, investment banking, angel investing, corporate governance and financial management.

Most recently, I am a co-founder of the CEO Circle program organized for the Association of Corporate Growth in San Diego. Previously, I served as co-leader of a CEO peer advisory group for Renaissance Executive Forums from Fall 2021 to Spring 2023. From 2010 to June 2018, I led three executive peer advisory groups for Vistage Worldwide in Los Angeles. 

Members of these CEO peer advisory groups are looking for trusted and unbiased advice on their most critical decisions. My goal as the group’s leader was to lead the peer group to strengthen each member’s leadership practice as well as to improve their company’s overall results.

My previous career experience involved a series of leadership roles with two venture capital investment firms and several investment banking firms going back to late 1980s.

Throughout my career, I have been an active member of the Los Angeles business community. I am particularly proud to have been a co-founder and a past president of Tech Coast Angels in Los Angeles.  I also served as the TCA’s chairman for several years. Today TCA (now known as the TCA VC Fund) is widely recognized as the largest and most active angel investor organization in the United States.

I have also been a co-founder and director of several well-known business groups, including the Forum for Corporate Directors, the LA Venture Association, the VC Alliance, the So Cal Tech Network, the Tech CEO Network and Launchpad LA.

Today, in addition to serving on three for-profit boards of directors, I am currently serving as a mentor for the Chairmen’s Roundtable, I am also an active member of the Corporate Director’s Forum. I am the current Program Chairman for the DMSB Roary Club, and finally I serve as a Mentor to MBA candidates for the Knauss School of Business at USD.
